20090613sa-facebook-logo-wikipedia-wikicommonsSummary. As of 12 June 2009, Facebook began allowing individual users to have their own personalized and simplified permanent short Facebook URL website address. This now establishes an additional way that individuals, organizations, businesses, and/or groups can have a presence on Facebook.

Benefit. Facebook has been offering the Page and Group options for organizations, businesses, and celebrities for quite a while now. Group and Page addresses are usually quite long. The new vanity personalized account page addresses will be short and not have the long numbers associated with them. For example, your personalized page would be www.Facebook.com/yourname
