Prevention. Proper back health can be enhanced by exercising the core muscles. By strengthening the abdominals and back muscles, the body has better support and is less likely to be strained. Rather than carrying a brief case or bag with one handle, consider a back pack that has a belt to distribute weight at the waist rather than upon the shoulders. Look for smaller and lighter weight devices (computer, camera, mobile phone). Their cumulative strain on the body can be significantly less. A device such as the iPhone, can replace numerous electronics.
