The Heart Songs CD is a
collection of songs and music that represent a music journal expressing
the Resources for Life journey for that year. The CD is available for
checkout from the Resources for Life library. The songs selected
for the 2003 Heart Songs CD reflect various significant events and people
from the year. The song list is included below with lyrics, links to albums

The year 2003 has been a spectacular year for Resources for Life. I'm very
grateful to the many people who continue to contribute to the Resources for
Life mission and community. Most of the songs chosen for this year's Heart Songs
are selected for their religious seasonal relevance. In the fall, From September
through December, friends from the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim communities
fast, pray, celebrate, and observe various holidays, Holy Days, and festivals
to acknowledge and commemorate the faithfulness of God in their lives. The inspirational
songs selected are interfaith songs that primarily refer to God without making
any specific theological statements. The songs are unique in that they are worshipfully
and intimately sung directly to God, unlike many hymns which are typically songs
about God that are sung to audiences.
Some of the songs have specific relevance other than a religious significance:
The song "Traveling Light" describes the process of throwing off
those things which burden us and make us less effective in life. This year,
the Mobile Hermitage was constructed with the desire to achieve greater effectiveness
through minimalism. The process of moving into the Mobile Hermitage required
a significant change in lifestyle. However, the results have been amazing.

The song "Love Sees" is dedicated, in part, to the many people
in the ASL community who continue to have a positive influence in my life.
I am deeply grateful to be included in this special community of strong Self-Determination
that in many ways seems set apart and untouched by much of the potentially
negative influences of the non-ASL world, yet it is a community that impacts
the world in a positive way. Click
