Koolulam – Inspiring, Transformational, and Impactful Music Events

In early 2018, Koolulam held numerous live music events in Israel brining together thousands of strangers to learn and perform inspiring songs of hope. In some of the events, people of various faiths sing in Arabic, English, and Hebrew.

Koolulam is a social-musical initiative, centered around mass singing events, attended by non-professionals, promoting the idea that musical harmony can inspire harmony in humanity. Koolulam was established with the goal of bringing together people from all walks of life by means of a collaborative musical creation. In each event, a new rendition of a well-known song is taught to participants and is immediately thereafter performed.

“One Love” (14 Jun 2018)

On June 14th, 2018, in honor of the historical visit to Israel by Indonesia’s religious leader Sheikh Haji Yahya Cholil Staquf, Koolulam invited 1000 people who had never met before to a special event at the Tower of David in Jerusalem, to sing one song, in three languages and in three-part vocal harmony. The event was produced in conjunction with the Tower of David museum and Jerusalem.Com. The event included clips from the Tower of David Night Shows – The Night Spectacular and KING DAVID

On February 19th, 2018, Koolulam arrived at Schneider Children’s Hospital to give some strength to both patients and doctors, and provide them with 3 hours of shared musical experience – a hiatus from their hectic day-to-day. It was a beautiful and emotional event, and will be remembered by many for a long time.

When 2,000 people from all across the country decide to do a Koolulam and sing “Mehuzakim LaOlam” (Empowered to the world) by Avraham Tal, we undoubtedly feel that there is hope for a better future.

“One Day” by Matisyahu

On 28 Feb 2018, Koolulam invited 3,000 people who had never met before joined to sing the song “One Day” as a celebration of coexistence, singing in Arabic, English, and Hebrew.
